Flotsam (2015)

A twenty-minute performance piece conceptualised, created and performed in collaboration with visual artist Francois Knoetze and theatre practitioner Richard September. We used electric fans, polystyrene cups and plastic bags of various kinds as materials, props and sound-producing objects. Richard improvised the movement, in a suit designed by the three of us and made by Francois, and I improvised a soundtrack on a baby grand piano. The framing of the video evokes a scene not unlike that of a 1920s silent movie accompanied by a live piano improviser.
